A man in a powder room at Starbucks at the Tropicana Las Vegas last week allegedly spied on a woman in a cubicle using a cell phone. The woman kicked the phone out of his hand and the two later fought, Las Vegas Metro police revealed.

KVVU, a local TV station, said the man had been identified as Lennard Davis. He was charged with spying through a camera and battery for the June 11 incident.

The incident happened around 1:35 a.m. when the victim entered the woman’s restroom. A man used a phone while standing outside the toilet, the report said.

Then she saw someone lying on the floor in the toilet stall. He was holding a phone. It was directed against her, according to the police report. After kicking the phone away, the woman screamed for help.

She left the stable. Outside the stall was the same man she’d seen outside the toilet with his phone, police said.

Victim confronts suspect

He was later identified as Davis. The victim asked him to tell her what was going on.

He stood there speechless.” KVVU reported citing the police report. She then ordered him to delete each video. At this point, Davis began to exit the restroom.

The victim put on Davis’s shirt in an apparent attempt to restrain him. But then he allegedly slapped her on an arm and grabbed her hair. KVVU quoted the police report. Nobody was injured.

Later, the police checked the casino‘s surveillance video. It showed Davis entering the women’s room three times, KVVU said. Davis was later arrested. He told police he had been drinking alcohol that night. He claims he thought he went to the men’s toilet after having to use the facilities, police said.

“Davis kept repeating that he was drunk and blamed it on alcohol,” KVVU quoted the police report.

Davis was committed to the Clark County Detention Center. He has not been in custody since the end of this week. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 12.

Alleged past voyeurism

In an unrelated incident in January, a registered sex offender pleaded not guilty after allegedly picking up a Muckleshoot Casino employee in a restroom. The defendant was in the adjacent toilet stall during the December 21, 2021 incident at the Auburn, Washington State property.

John Matthew Lair, 44, of Seattle was charged with first-degree voyeurism Kent reportersa Washington state newspaper reported earlier this year.

Auburn Police say Lair used a cell phone to take the video. Following an investigation, the King County Attorney’s Office filed charges against Lair on January 6.

The casino worker said he was in a toilet when a man in the neighboring stall dropped his jacket “really hard,” the report revealed. The employee then spotted a cell phone emerging from a jacket pocket, the victim told authorities. It was under the partition between the two stalls.

It was unclear how the charges would be assessed in court.
