Veterans of Foreign Wars has announced the starting shot for the “Voice of Democracy” and “Patriot’s Pen” scholarship competitions for 2021-2022.
The essay competitions are designed to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the United States and promote patriotism among the youth of the country. Students are asked to submit an essay in response to a question or topic that prompts them to reflect on how American history and democratic ideals and principles apply in their lives.
This year’s Voice of Democracy theme invites students to reflect on “America: Where Are We Going From Here?” It is an audio essay competition open to students in grades 9 through 12. The national winner will receive the $ 30,000 TC Seiman Memorial Scholarship Award. Further information and application forms can be found at https://tinyurl.com/VFWVOD.
