The Oswego Humane Society is hosting a pet photo contest

OSWEGO, NY (WSYR-TV) – The Oswego County Humane Society (OCHS) is hosting a pet photo contest that will run online leading up to their Home for the Holidays event on Saturday, December 17 at the Oswego Elks Lodge.

Anyone can submit a photo of their furry best friend or vote for their favorite entry. This weekend is special because there is a 2-for-1 promotion where you get two votes for every dollar donated from Friday morning November 11th to Sunday evening November 13th.

There are many ways to win while helping raise money for the animals in need at the Oswego County Humane Society. So far, OCHS has raised $1441 of its $5000 goal.

The person who gets the most votes for their pet or pets picture will receive a $100 PetSmart gift card.

Then the winning dog, cat or other creature will each receive a personalized canvas tote bag with the photos of the top four winners. The top four winners will also be featured on the OCHS website and Facebook pages.

Additional prizes will be awarded for donations. Anyone who donates $100 for their pet will receive a personalized coffee mug or mouse pad with their pet’s photo on it.

The first on the leaderboard are currently the dogs Bosco and Bailey, with Bosco using Bailey as a pillow lying on the floor.

In addition to running promotional events to raise funds, OCHS also hosts the Pet of the Week newsletter to highlight a special pet up for adoption. They also house castration and castration clinics, as well as humane education.

If you are interested in adopting a pet with the Humane Society, you may fill out this application before going to the Humane Society at 29 West Seneca Street in Oswego.
