SUMMARY | Plane trees fall in Toledo street competition


TOLEDO, Ohio – Indiana state women’s football fell 1-0 against Toledo in a street game at Paul Hotmer Stadium on Friday night.

In the first half, only six shots were fired by both teams, with five coming from Toledo and one from Indiana State. Maddie Alexander made three saves for the Sycamores and Emma Boutorwick recorded a save for the Rockets to bring the game to a 0-0 draw at halftime.

The game remained goalless in the 78th minute when Toledo’s Claire Cahalan scored a free-kick from just outside the box and gave the Rockets a 1-0 lead.

The Rockets ended the night with 17 attempts to shoot, with eight on goal. Stephanie Currie made five attempts to overtake Toledo.

Indiana State was kept on goal with only three shot attempts with one. Alexander finished with seven saves for the Sycamores.

The Sycamores will return to Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m. ET against Saint Louis on Sunday to end the game without a conference.
