Strat Hotel Jumper Likely Committed Suicide, Nevada Coroner Reveals

The man who jumped out of the Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod in Las Vegas on Tuesday night died of apparent suicide, according to Clark County’s coroner’s office. The official cause of his death was “blunt injuries,” added the forensic medicine.

It was revealed on Wednesday that he was a 30-year-old resident of Henderson, Nevada Las Vegas Review Journal. The metro police gave no reason for his jump.

It appears he ended up near a level entrance near a sidewalk along Las Vegas Boulevard Vital Vegas.

The police were first informed of the incident, which was initially described as “apparent suicide”, at around 9 pm on Tuesday. During the investigation into the incident, police blocked Las Vegas Boulevard in both directions between Bob Stupak Drive and St. Louis Avenue KLAS, a local television station.

In response, the Strat issued a statement On Wednesday. It is reading:

“First and foremost, we would like to express our condolences to the family of the deceased.

We have taken measures for the safety of our guests and team members at the SkyPod, regardless of whether they are driving our thrill rides or visiting the observation deck. There was no security breach in any of our rides, including SkyJump, nor is it possible to accidentally fall from a publicly accessible area. “

Previous fatal jumps out of the Strat

In an unrelated incident in 2000, a 24-year-old Utah man killed himself after jumping out of the same hotel formerly known as the Stratosphere. Mitchell M. Mayfield of Tooele jumped from the hotel tower’s observation deck, she said Las Vegas sun.

It ended up in some bushes on a valet, according to reports published at the time.

In order to jump off the deck, Mayfield was found to climb over several railings, barriers and fences. The Strat also had a guard on duty on the observation deck, but Mayfield got through the barriers very quickly, the hotel said.

Two years later, a 16-year-old boy from Las Vegas also jumped to his death from the Stratosphere Tower. Levi Walton Presley had jumped from the outdoor observation deck.

Other people tried to jump off the observation deck too, but security guards and others managed to convince them to go to safety Sun called. Some people have also tried jumping from another part of the complex.

Recent murder-suicides in Las Vegas hotel-casinos

Other recent incidents have involved suicides in other Las Vegas venues or hotels. For example, in March a Wynn Las Vegas security guard and a hotel casino clerk died in a parking garage on the Strip in what police called an apparent homicide-suicide.

Also in August, two women were found shot dead on a hotel bed in a room at the Palms Place Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas, part of the Palms Casino Resort. Her death was later classified as murder-suicide.
