Northern Quest is postponing sports betting until the end of November

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash – Sports gambling should launch at Northern Quest Casino in October, but supply chain issues have postponed the launch date.

“It took longer than expected to acquire our servers,” said Kevin Zenishek, Director of Casino Operations. “The servers have been on the property for a couple of weeks now, and they’re being coded and ready to go.”

These servers organize all the information when someone places a bet. Now the Northern Quest teams hope to be able to start by the end of November.

“There’s a lot of computer work involved, so the server needs to be coded and set up,” said Zenishek. “There is the software that runs the application for placing the bets, which has to be coded with the different authorization levels in order for the users to have these authorizations.”

Northern Quest plans to eventually bring out a mobile app that will allow wagering anywhere on the casino grounds, but it won’t be available until early next year.

“It is sometimes a little intimidating and sometimes a little confusing when you first load up an app and try to see how you place your bets. So we want to make sure that people know how the system works, that they can bet accurately and responsibly, ”said Zenishek.

The casino team awaits a learning curve for both them and those who place bets.

“There are so many different phases of this project that have to be done well to achieve this, so we wanted to do this in the best possible way, so we wanted to make sure we weren’t tied to time and that we were given enough time to to do that well. “
