Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer earn CCSA Couple of the Week

Tallahassee, Fla. – For the first time this season, a Florida State pairing has earned CCSA Pair of the Week honors. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer were named CCSA Couple of the Week after a 4-0 weekend against four top-20 teams.

Anderson and Bauer became the 16thth Pair in Florida State to earn Conference Pair of the Week. They are currently 10-3 on the season.

The pair went undefeated at the UAB March-May tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala. over the weekend. All four wins came at number one against No. 1 UCLA, No. 7 Grand Canyon, No. 15 South Carolina, and No. 15 South Carolina. 20 Tulans.

On the first day of the March-May tournament, the duo won both matches in straight sets. Against Grand Canyon, the pair dominated, conceding just 12 points in each set. They ended the day with a big win over UCLA. The pair earned the first point of the game for the Seminoles, winning 21-19, 21-11.

The following day, the pair scored back-to-back wins to close out the March–May tournament. In the first match against Tulane, the duo fought through two tight sets before sealing the win with a dominant third set. Tulane forced Anderson and Bauer to win the first set by 22-20 extra points. In the second set, Tulane took the advantage and edged the pair out 21-17. Anderson and Bauer found a second wind in the third set and had 10 unanswered points before winning 15-3. In the final game of the weekend, the two defeated South Carolina 21-13, 21-11.

This is the first time this couple has received conference honors and Bauer’s first conference honor as a Seminole. Anderson previously earned this honor with partner Sara Putt on March 31, 2021.
