joey chestnut is the GOAT when it comes to eating food really fast, and he’s willing to put another GOAT to the test… telling TMZ Sports with whom he would like to get into a direct showdown Tom Brady!!
We spoke to 38-year-old Tube Steak Titan ahead of his Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest on July 4th… and he said he’s inspired by TB12’s longevity and ability to compete in his 40s.
But when Joey called Brady, we had to ask if the guy was willing to host a TB12 method-approved food showdown… and since this is the king we’re talking about, of course he accepted the challenge.
Of course, avocado ice cream is one of TB12’s favorite desserts—and Chestnut has, in fact, had some…although it sounds like he’s hell-bent on staying away from that food.
“It’s not the best,” Chestnut said this week. “It’s better than other weird ice creams like garlic ice cream.”
Chestnut seems confident about whatever Brady is thrown at him… saying, “I don’t know what he can do better than me.”
“It would be great to eat against him at every meal.”
For now, Joey is focused on the Glizzys at Coney Island… and plans to surpass his predecessor record of 76if it’s not too hot.
“If things are going really badly I’d be happy with 70, but if things are going really, really well, the number 77 looks very doable.”
If Chestnut takes home first place, it will be his 15th championship and seventh straight win.
