Eastside Utility District wins TAUD Region 10 Best Tasting Water Contest

Eastside Utility District was named the winner of the Region 10 Best Tasting Water competition sponsored by the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts.

TAUD Region 10 consists of Bledsoe, Bradley, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Polk, Rhea, Sequatchie, and Van Buren counties. Other participating utilities included, in addition to Eastside Utility District, Etowah Utilities, Hixson Utility District, Ocoee Utility District, and Tellico Area Services System.

The judges for the competition were Dusty Phillips of G&C Supply, Jason McGee of Southeastern Tank, and Jason Kouba of TN 811. Drinking water samples are judged on their clarity, their bouquet and their taste.

This spring, TAUD is holding the Best Tasting Water in Tennessee Contest in each of its 11 regions. Each regional winner will compete in the TAUD 2021 annual business conference at the Gatlinburg Convention Center on Thursday, August 12th. The statewide winner will represent TAUD at the Great American Water Taste Test, which is held in conjunction with the National Rural Water Association’s Rural Water Rally in. takes place February 2022.
