puppies? They pant and growl and snooze and gnaw and they really, really love to snack.
But our sweet four-legged friends are also known for their adorable jumping ability. They’ll jump for a toy, jump for a suddenly empty sofa cushion, and jump into their arms when we call them (well, when they’re not busy snacking or gnawing on a favorite toy, of course).
And jump into spring at a festival all about our spring-like fidos? This feels like an easy, smiling way to jump into the most beautiful season.
So here’s something worth raising a blissful bark about: Haute Dogs, the group behind these Long Beach events that put our BFFs in the costumed and cuddly spotlight, are hosting a series of cute contests on March 20th, 2022.
Which, yes, the very first day of spring is an ideal occasion to throw a happy happening.
Adding to the sparkling, sun-kissed vibe? It all takes place near the surf at Rosie’s Beach.
As with previous Haute Dogs events, there will be several quirky competitions for your pooch to enter, although you can certainly enter without attending any of the Snarfly Showdowns.
Yes, we said “Snarfly” because the headlining contest is the Bulldog Beauty Contest. It’s the yummy and loveable launchpad for the day, meaning you’ll need to be light and early on the sand for the 9am competition.
But you say you don’t share your home with an English bulldog?
There are a variety of other picture-worthy competitions to consider for your dog, including Best Senior Dog, Best Young Dog, Best Small Dog, and Best Large Dog.
And a new category for 2022: Best Siblings, covering the cuties who share the same address (the puppy siblings don’t have to be of the same breed, keep that in mind).
Interested in registering your dog, learning about donations to Haute Dogs, and checking out all the competitions that fill the happy morning at 1 Granada Avenue in Long Beach?
