Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 Florida State Parks Photo Contest


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The winners of the 2022 Explore Florida State Parks Photo Contest have been announced by the Florida Parks Service of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

  • First Place Winner: Jonathan Crossman took the photo “Camping Under Oaks and Stars” at Myakka River State Park. Crossman won a Florida State Parks stand-up paddleboard and life jacket, as well as a BioLite fire pit and annual family entry pass.
  • Second Place Winner: Wei-Shen “Osprey Fresh Catch,” a photo of Chin, was taken at Sebastian Inlet State Park. Chin received a BioLite fire pit, an insulated tote bag from RTIC Outdoors and a 12-day entry permit.
  • Third Place Winner: Cody McNeal’s “Exploding Sunset” was recorded at De Leon Springs State Park. McNeal took home an RTIC Outdoors soft pack cooler, a CamelBak hydration pack and six-day tickets.

“Congratulations to all of the winners of this year’s photo contest and thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a photo,” said Chuck Hatcher, Florida Park Service acting director. “We received thousands of incredible entries, all of which helped showcase the beauty and natural wonder of our amazing state parks.”

The 2022 Explore Florida State Parks Photo Contest received 12,673 entries, breaking last year’s record of 3,796.

The program allows people to explore their favorite parks while earning prizes for future adventures and memories at Florida’s state parks.
