The number 22 Clemson Tiger (9-3) takes over the Cyclones in the state of Iowa (7-5) on Wednesday at the Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando. The Camping World Stadium kick-off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. ET. Below we look at those Clemson vs. Iowa State odds and paylines, and meet our college football expert tips, predictions and bets.
Clemson came into this season with sky-high expectations as it has been one of the top programs in college football in recent years. It lost 10-3 until now no. 2 Georgia at the season opener and lost to the current No. 18 NC State 27-21 in overtime three games later.
Clemson may have had a mediocre attack, but his defenses are more elitist. It allowed the second fewest points in the nation (15.0 points per game). The Tigers were only 4-8 against the Spread (ATS) this season while the Cyclones were marginally better at 5-7.
While the Cyclones have a more dynamic offense that features both a quarterback at over 2,800 yards and a running back at over 1,400 yards, their main strength also lies in their defense, which allows for the 10th fewest yards per game.

Clemson 23, State of Iowa 17
EXIST. I’ll take the Clemson spread for another 25 cents on the dollar. Given this value, I would rather play the points and would not be comfortable enough with the Tigers to still bet a lot on a -140 money line.
Against the spread
“SKINNY” to CLEMSON -2.5 (-115) since its defense should be able to put it on the Cyclones Offensive. The Cyclones average nearly 170 yards per game. Unlocking the passing game by moving the chains on the floor was a routine for the state of Iowa.
You will fight against a Clemson rush defense, which ranks ninth in the country in the rushing yards of the opponents. It is a legitimate group with several highly acclaimed recruits.
Cyclones also use the Rusher RB. on Breece Hall won’t play, which greatly diminishes her offense.
Its absence will give the Tigers a huge boost. It has to be QB. being Brock Purdy that gives the cyclones a chance, and in this situation I would bet on defending the tigers rather than against them.
BET UNDER 44.5 (-110) as the Cyclones are about to lose their leading rusher and the Clemson Offensive has been inconsistent at best all season. The Clemson Offensive ranks 103rd in passing nationally and 56th in rushing.
The bad news for Clemson is that the state of Iowa has a top 25 rush defense. It should be able to narrow down what Clemson is best at. Given Hall’s absence and the Tigers’ elite defense, I’d bet on fewer points.
According to pregame.com, we are seeing some reverse line movement with the vast majority of the money on the over, but that total is moving down from 45 to 44.5. Sports betting likes their positions, and so should you.
