(PRESS RELEASE) — Choctaw Casino Resort – Durant commemorates the 10th anniversary of Gilley’s, the legendary Texas entertainment venue made famous by the 1980 blockbuster Urban Cowboy, which was inspired by the late country singer Mickey Gilley, who owned the bar Founded in Pasadena in 1989. Since opening in 2012, Gilley’s has been an iconic destination for food, fun and free entertainment with world-class live music every Friday and Saturday. The 8,900-square-foot Gilley’s at Choctaw’s Durant Resort is one of three Gilley’s (the others are in Dallas and Las Vegas), all designed to replicate the original Pasadena, Texas location.
Over the years Gilley’s has hosted a wide range of concerts by mainstream artists such as Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, John Anderson, Neal McCoy, Tracy Lawrence, Charley Crockett, Pat Green, Mark Chesnutt, Mike Ryan and William hosts Clark Green and Uncle Kracker.
