Brad Hogg looks forward to Venkatesh Iyer’s bowling competition

Former Australian weirdo Brad Hogg pointed out that once the opposing teams start making plans to contain Venkatesh Iyer, things could get a little tricky. The explosive left-hander has had a good start to his Indian Premier League career with good stakes in wins against the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second leg of the tournament.

Brendon McCullum and Eoin Morgan’s aggressive cricket brand has played to Iyer’s strengths. This means that left-handers can also take full advantage of the benefits.

Hogg noted that Iyer didn’t change his approach or body language between the two games. He’s eager to see Iyer’s reaction once the opposing bowlers start planning against the opener. On his YouTube channel, Hogg said:

“What I like about him is that he is a bit fidgety. He hasn’t changed that approach between 2 games. His name just came up on the radar, opposing teams will work him out, they will try not to give him one. ” Width and try not to get too short, they will try to cramp it onto the upper stump by bowling. If they tie him up, how will he react? Hogg said

KKR scored 56 and 63 runs respectively in the power play phase in both games and the majority of the runs came from Iyers Weide.

Avesh Khan has really grown up: Brad Hogg

Hogg highlighted Avesh Khan and his value to the Delhi Capitals setup at the time. The pacemaker is so far second on the list of leading wicket takers at the IPL 2021. With 14 wickets, he is only three wickets behind Harshal Patel’s wicket number. Hogg added:

“Avesh Khan jumped ahead of Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma in the Delhi Captials line-up. He’s really grown up and getting a lot of depth were their Indian fast bowlers. Khan has come through now and it was the hole the Capitals were trying to fill.”

The pacemaker of the U-19 World Cup 2016 previously represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore before he was classified by the Delhi Capitals. He missed the chance to fill the void for the purple cap after going wicketless against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
