AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR / KCIT) – Amarillo College announced that more than 100 students representing colleges and universities from Arizona to Missouri will be attending its campus for the United States Information Technology Collegiate Conference (USITCC) South Central Regional this month .
AC said this competitive conference will be held October 28-30 in the Allied Health Building and classroom on the college’s west campus.
Lectures, workshops and exhibitions round off the three-day experience. Previous enrolled students are from Amarillo College, Texas State University, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Missouri State University, Our Lady of the Lake University, and the University of Arizona.
“This conference has the potential to change the lives of people who want to join the IT community,” said Karen Boatman, program coordinator for computer information systems at AC. “We very much hope that it will have a positive impact on all participants.”
According to the AC, registration begins on Thursday, October 28th at 3:00 p.m. and the first two competitions will take place on the first evening from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – in security and in systems analysis and design.
Further competition categories planned for Friday and Saturday are application development; Network design; Office solutions; Security CTF; Database design; and pc troubleshooting.
