There can be several reasons why people need a loan at some point. This often involves reasonably necessary loans, such as an amount of money to start a business or buy a house . Although borrowing money always costs money, such a loan can still be a sensible form of borrowing. After all, if your business is running well, you will automatically earn back the costs of the loan. If you want to borrow money for other purposes, such as a holiday or a wedding, it is more of a form of 'luxury' borrowing.
You may of course wonder why someone would take out a loan to pay for a wedding. A large wedding party is not necessary. Although… If all goes well, you only marry once in your life. Then you want to have celebrated your wedding in the way you and your bride (egom) had in mind. Unfortunately, there is usually a hefty price tag attached: a little wedding can easily cost ten to seventeen thousand US dollars. A considerable amount, that not everyone just has on the shelf. Or maybe you had put some money aside, but just before the wedding date you had to deal with some major expenses, such as a broken car, a leaking roof, or some other unexpected setback. Borrowing an amount of money for your wedding party can then be an option.
Borrow for your wedding or cut back?
Before you start looking at how much you can borrow for your wedding, it might be an idea to see if you can still cut back on a few items. Maybe you know someone with a nice old-timer, so you don't have to rent an expensive wedding car. Or do you have musical family members who would like to act as a band at your wedding party. You can also save on food and drinks, but also on wedding rings. You prefer not to scrape the wedding photographer, even if friends or family offer to film or take photos: if something unexpectedly goes wrong, then you will not have photos or videos that remind you of your big day.
Put an egg roll on your invitation!
Are you as a bridal couple really waiting for three salt and pepper sets, twelve-piece crockery, a mosquito net and a microwave? If you don't have much to spend, just dare to print a “spring roll” or the well-known envelope on your invitation. The chance that you will completely cut the costs for your wedding is not great, but by asking money from the invitees you can at least save an amount.
